Description

This is clan [IP]'s haunted house, where kids from around the neighborhood can score some choice pickups, and a swig of punch.

This is just a novelty map for Halloween. The Health Pickups are all candy bars. This map has an unmistakable feel to it. A cross between MediEvil, Uninvited, Alone in the Dark, and Nightmare before Christmas.

The pickups are actually just very fast movers, that are accompanied by hidden superhealth's with their HealAmount set to 10 points.

When you touch a candybar it disappears (moves out of sight) and is set to return at the same time as the superhealth respawn time.

If you want to get fancy, you could write a script to do the same thing, like "Unreal Cans" which is just a health pick up, with the mesh and textures swapped out for "Steel Barrel" (shrunk down in size) and different beverage textures.

But like I said, I made this map literally the night before Halloween so I really didn't spend the time making a canybar mod. Besides, there is really no appropriate mesh for a candybar ( i tried it already) in default Unreal except for maybe a Flare/Tootsie roll, or something like that.

This map also sort of completes my Autumn trilogy: DmHalloween, DmGraveyard, and DmTrickOrTreat.

Since Halloween and Graveyard were made so long ago, this map kind of does them a little more justice. It's "visually" a culmination of them both.

Halloween and Graveyard still have a lot more secrets and hidden areas though. There are no "Tricks" in this map, only treats! :-)

Happy Halloween from J, and the kids at clan [IP]

-Jeff
