Installation

Unzip dmNostalgia.zip

Store the *.unr file in your Unreal/Maps directory along with the others
(see guide below), then either doubleclick on it, or type

open dmNostalgia

in the console, or select the Map in a Botmatch or an Internet game.

Author's Notes

This is my first Map, only took me three years to getting round to doing one, so be gentle and send me bug reports and suggestions so I can make improvements or do it better next time. 

In the design I basically wanted the map to be fast and fun.

No hit scan weapons were to be included, I play Unreal mainly online and thought a map without the ASMD, Rifle and Mini-gun would be a pleasant change. 

The combo whoring gets basically boring after a while and I miss the old days where a dukeout would last more than a split second - hence the title, Nostalgia.

The bots are adverse to using the jumpboots (a known fact) and don't like the stairwell much but on the rest of the level they're pretty lethal at setting 3.

The jumpboots are pretty essential if you're gonna last any period of time as they allow you to get the best powerups. However, you will have to work to get the goodies - only three jumps allowed and there's timer. No risk, no gain...

I tried to keep the node count as low as possible but it does get into the 300's in the main big areas. The only way around would have been to put in less detail and more corridors - didn't want to.

Flowise it's pretty good IMHO...again in the design I wanted the players to be a free as they could moving around the map. Personally, I hate levels that dictate a certain style of play.

The custom sounds are my voice sampled and tweaked in Goldwave. 
There are three spot effects and two mystery ones....you'll have to find out what triggers them.

Playing tip......be sneaky as you can..

Use the secondary fire on some of the weapons to lay traps that other players can walk into and the force field is valuable tacical weapon.

Okay..enough of my babbling..go play the bloody thing.....hehehe
